Hemorrhoid Treatment
First things first about Hemorrhoid treatment!
It is believed in general that constipation and straining to the bowel movements promote hemorrhoids and hard stools can traumatize existing hemorrhoids and prevent your hemorrhoid treatment. It is therefore recommended that individuals with hemorrhoids soften their stools by increasing fiber in their diet as a part of their hemorrhoid treatment.
Fiber can be found in many foods including fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, rice and cereals. Generally, 20-30 grams of fiber per day are recommended while the average American diet contains less than 15 grams of fiber, this is part of our hemorrhoid treatment problem. Extra fiber (psyllium, methylcellulose, or calcium polycarbophil) also can be used to increase the intake of fiber. Stool softeners and increased drinking of fluids may also be recommended to limit your hemorrhoids problems and may help you with your hemorrhoid treatment.
However, there is no strong scientific support for the benefits of fiber, fluids or stool softeners when it comes to hemorrhoid treatment.
Diarrhea is considered to aggravate symptoms of hemorrhoids and it is recommended that the diarrhea is controlled by the fiber and anti-motility drugs, do this before you start with any other hemorrhoid treatment.
